BOTE AeroRondak
Pros
- Super comfortable chair option for boaters/beach-goers
- Has a nice level of portability for this large of a chair
- Magnepod cup-holders are a nice touch if you have BOTE’s compatible drinkware accessories
- Easy to inflate, even with the included nano pump
Cons
- Definitely on the pricier side when compared to standard beach chairs
The BOTE AeroRondak is an interesting, portable take on a crowd favorite and classic lounger, the Adirondack chair. This inflatable seat lets you bring all the comfort of an Adirondack wherever you go, whether that be on the beach, on the boat, on a sandbar party, on a camping trip, or even to a weekend soccer tournament. With a deep-set seat, a slightly reclined backrest, and large padded armrests, the AeroRondak is designed for comfort and relaxation.
Features and Accessories
Never one to err on the side of minimalism, the Bote AeroRondak has a decent array of features. The top of the seat back has a soft carry handle to make carrying this chair down to your spot or readjusting for the tide much easier. There’s also a pocket on the back and several molly loops to attach any small or loose accessories you don’t want to get lost. As a final touch, Bote has adorned the armrests of the AeroRondak with their EVA padding (the same padding that’s on their paddleboards), and a pair of their ‘Magnepod’ cup holders to keep your drink secure, as long as it’s contained in one of their ‘Magnedpod’ accessories.
Included Accessories
- AeroRondak Mesh Backpack
- Single Chamber Hand Pump
- Webbing strap
- Repair kit
Bote includes all of the necessary accessories to make this chair extremely portable. Their mesh backpack prevents mold while the chair is packed away and its shoulder strap is reasonably comfortable while lugging the AeroRondak around. We also liked the ‘packability’ of the smaller single chamber hand pump (though it does require a bit more effort to get this chair up to the recommended 10 PSI). Our only complaint here is that we would have preferred the mesh bag to be a little bit bigger, as the chair can sometimes be difficult to fold back up and fit in the bag without the help of an extra person.
Construction Quality
The AeroRondak is constructed using the same methods as Bote’s paddle boards. With an inner linear drop stitch and a single exterior layer of PVC, the AeroRondak will hold up well to both the elements and frequent use.
At the recommended 10 PSI, the chair feels fairly stiff and solid; if you prefer a more cushioned seating arrangement, you could always inflate it a bit below the recommended PSI. We’d also advise inflating the board a bit below 10 PSI anyway if you’ll be sitting in full sun, outside of the water, as this will prevent your chair from being damaged due to pressure increases caused by excess heat.
Summary Review of the Bote AeroRondak
The AeroRondak is a unique portable version of a classic lounge chair. As we’ve said, it matches the comfortability of an Adirondack, but the ‘go-anywhere’ aspect of it is incredibly appealing for camping, tailgate season, and boaters alike. We could see these chairs being particularly attractive for boaters in particular as their inflatable build and PVC exterior will be much gentler on the deck than metal-framed beach chairs.
